SOULFLY: Munich Footage Available

on Tuesday, 16 November 2010. Posted in Metal News

Video footage of SOULFLY's November 8, 2010 performance at backstage Werk in Munich, Germany can be viewed below.

SOULFLY will team up with STRAIGHT LINE STITCH and INCITE for a U.S. tour in November/December.

SOULFLY recently confirmed the departure of bassist Bobby Burns. According to the band, "The split was completely amicable and there was no animosity on either side."

Johny Chow, who has played with SOULFLY's Max Cavalera (guitar, vocals) and Marc Rizzo (guitar) in CAVALERA CONSPIRACY and is a member of FIREBALL MINISTRY, is loaning his skills to SOULFLY tours for the immediate future until the position is filled.

"Omen" sold 6,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 73 on The Billboard 200 chart.

SOULFLY's previous album, "Conquer", opened with 8,400 units back in August 2008 to land at position No. 66 on The Billboard 200 chart. This number was in line with the opening tally of the CD's predecessor, "Dark Ages", which shifted a little more than 8,000 copies during its first week of release in October 2005 to enter the chart at No. 155.

Dimebash 2010: First Video Footage Available

on Saturday, 30 October 2010. Posted in Metal News

The first video footage from last night's (Friday, October 29) Dimebash 2010 event — which was held in honor of the late, great "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott (PANTERA, DAMAGEPLAN) — at the world-famous Key Club on the Sunset Strip in West Hollywood, California can be viewed below (more clips to be added).

All proceeds from the event — including ticket sales, raffles, merchandise and drink specials — will benefit the Ronnie James Dio Stand Up and Shout Cancer Fund. In addition to these charitable items, a DVD of the event was recorded for near-future release with proceeds from the disc's sales also going towards the fund.

The all-star lineup that shared the stage included hard rock and heavy metal titans: Lemmy of MOTÖRHEAD; Dave Grohl of FOO FIGHTERS; Joey Jordison of SLIPKNOT and ROB ZOMBIE; Simon Wright from DIO; Brent Smith, Zach Myers and Eric Bass of SHINEDOWN; Kerry King and Dave Lombardo of SLAYER; Robb Flynn and Phil Demmel of MACHINE HEAD; Chuck Billy from TESTAMENT; Chris Howorth and Maria Brink of IN THIS MOMENT; Joey Vera of ARMORED SAINT; Tony Campos of STATIC-X; Gerry Nestler of PHILM; John Boecklin of DEVILDRIVER. This sold-out night was hosted by radio/television personality Jose Mangin, a veteran of several Dimebag events.
